Шлюз проксі - це єдиний ендпоінт, до якого ви під’єднуєтесь і який фронтить увесь пул IP провайдера. Замість під’єднання до окремих проксі-IP ви надсилаєте весь трафік на один host:port - шлюз - і він призначає IP із розташованого за ним пулу на кожен запит або сесію. Саме так доставляються сучасні ротаційні проксі.

Модель шлюзу робить ротацію безпроблемною. Ви налаштовуєте один ендпоінт у скрапері й ніколи не керуєте списком IP; шлюз займається вибором, ротацією, гео-таргетингом і утриманням сесії на основі параметрів порту та імені користувача, які ви надсилаєте. За цією однією адресою можуть стояти мільйони резидентних IP.

Параметри, що передаються шлюзу, керують його поведінкою. Зазвичай ім’я користувача кодує опції: з якої країни чи міста виходити, чи тримати sticky-сесію й як довго, а іноді - з якого пулу брати. Шлюз читає їх і маршрутизує відповідно, тож один рядок підключення може виражати складний таргетинг.

Ця архітектура також централізує автентифікацію й надійність. Ви автентифікуєтесь один раз на шлюзі (за обліковими даними або whitelist за IP), а провайдер керує здоров’ям пулу за ним - прибирає мертві IP, балансує навантаження й застосовує ліміти вашого тарифу. Для користувача весь пул має вигляд одного розумного ендпоінту.

One address in front of many

A gateway is a single entry point that fronts a pool of exits. You always connect to the same hostname and port, and the gateway decides which device carries your traffic based on the parameters you supply.

This is the standard architecture for residential networks, because the exits are unreliable by nature. A home device drops off constantly, and a gateway simply routes your next connection elsewhere rather than handing you a broken address.

The trade is that you describe an exit rather than choosing one. You can ask for a country, a city and a duration; you cannot ask for a specific address, and you will not be told which address you got unless you check.

Because the gateway address never changes, firewall rules and profile settings survive exit rotation.

Whitelisting the gateway hostname at a destination achieves nothing: traffic arrives from the exit, not from us.

A 502 means the gateway found no exit matching your description, which is a stock condition rather than a fault.

Ask for your current exit when you need to know it, by requesting an IP echo service through the same session.

Gateway misconceptions

One gateway line is not one proxy

Ten identical lines in a tool can land on the same exit unless the session ids differ.

You cannot pin a specific exit address

Sticky holds whatever was chosen. For a known address, buy a static product.

The gateway is not what the site sees

It sees the exit device.

Concurrency is not limited by pool visibility

You can run far more parallel connections than the number of exits you ever observe.
