There is no parameter for another country’s store.
App store catalogues, rankings, prices and screenshots are built per country. Unlike a web shop, there is no query string that shows you Brazil from Berlin: the store is chosen for you.
Por qué los proxies resuelven esto
Mobile stores are the most strictly geo-partitioned surface on the consumer internet. Rankings, availability, pricing tiers, editorial placement and even the screenshots differ per country, and a store is selected from where the request comes from rather than from what you ask for. Without a local address there is nothing to collect.
Los problemas sin proxies
Rankings are a per-country object
A top ten in one market says nothing about the next one. Category charts are computed per country, and comparing across them requires a pass from each.
Availability is not global
An app can be absent, delisted or restricted in a country while looking perfectly healthy from yours. From outside, absence and availability look the same: a page that loads.
Store pages lean on scripts and media
Screenshots, videos and lazily loaded blocks make store pages heavy. On per-gigabyte billing the media, not the listings, is what fills the invoice.
Cómo lo resuelve SotaProxy
Residential addresses in 220+ countries for catalogue, ranking and price data, mobile addresses in 26 where the store expects a carrier, and sticky sessions so a category walk stays inside one market.
Configuración en 4 pasos
Pick the markets, then the categories
Country first, category second. A category list collected across mixed exits is not a chart of anything.
Match language to country
The store picks a country from the address and a language from the header. Titles, descriptions and keywords change with the language, and keyword work built on the wrong pair measures nothing.
Hold the session through a category walk
Ranking positions shift between requests. A sticky session keeps one snapshot coherent rather than stitching several together.
Block media before the first full run
Screenshots and preview videos dominate the weight of a store page. Blocking them changes the bill by an order of magnitude and changes the data not at all.
Fifteen markets, daily charts
Chart collection is small in page count and large in page weight, which inverts the usual estimate:
Fifteen markets cost less than two dollars a month if media is blocked, and more than a hundred if it is not. This is the clearest case on the site for deciding that question before scaling.
A coherent snapshot of one market
One country, one language, one session, and the local hour recorded with the data:
Collecting one market’s charts
# one session for the whole category walk in one country
S="login_c_BR_s_51_ttl_50m:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000"
curl -s -x $S -H "Accept-Language: pt-BR" \
"https://store.example/charts/top-free?category=games" -o br-games.html
# confirm which store you were actually served
curl -s -x $S https://ipinfo.io/json | grep -iE "country|region"
# a mobile address where the surface expects a carrier
curl -s -x login_c_BR_mobile_s_52_ttl_50m:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 \
-H "Accept-Language: pt-BR" "https://store.example/app/12345" -o br-app.html- Record the local time of collection, not only the date: charts are daily objects and the hour decides which day you captured.
- Store the country and language pair with every row; a title without them cannot be compared to anything.
- Watch for an empty page under a 200. On store surfaces that usually means the listing is not available in that country rather than that the request failed.
Three ways store data goes wrong
Treating absence as an error
An app missing from a country’s store is data, not a failed request. Logging it as a failure hides exactly the finding you were collecting for.
Comparing charts collected at different local hours
A chart is recomputed through the day. Collecting Brazil in its morning and Japan in its evening produces a comparison of two different moments.
Leaving media on
Screenshots and preview videos are the bulk of a store page. On per-gigabyte billing they turn a two-dollar job into a three-figure one without adding a single field to the data.
Preguntas frecuentes
Can I get another country’s store without a proxy?
Not reliably. Some surfaces expose a country parameter, most do not, and the ones that do often still serve availability and pricing from your address. A local address is the only consistent answer.
Residential or mobile?
Residential covers catalogue, ranking and price collection. Mobile is for the surfaces that expect a carrier address, and it is billed per day rather than per gigabyte.
How often do rankings need collecting?
Daily is the usual cadence, because charts move daily. What matters more is collecting at the same local hour in each market, otherwise you are comparing morning in one country with evening in another.
Do you help with anything beyond collecting?
No. We sell addresses. Manipulating rankings or reviews is neither something we support nor something an address makes possible.
