Myanmar proxies

Our catalogue lists five of Myanmar’s fifteen regions, 11 city records and 33 networks. Yangon holds 27 networks, 21 of them only there, Mandalay six, the other seven cities one each. All three of the country’s carriers are in the pool: MPT, ATOM and Mytel. Of 23 well known Myanmar sites we checked from Europe, 16 are open, and the closed ones are KBZ, Wave Money and four outlets. And what you need to know before buying: since 2021 the internet in Myanmar has lived under restrictions, and an exit inside the country sees it as it is, blocks included.

What we have in Myanmar

The price is the same as in every other country we cover.

What Myanmar addresses get used for

Marketplaces and retail

Shop.com.mm, City Mart: open, the address is for kyat prices and availability.

Delivery

foodpanda, Grab: open, the address is for fares and delivery zones.

Banks and payments

KBZ, AYA, CB Bank, Wave Money: KBZ and Wave Money are closed from outside, AYA and CB are open.

Carriers

MPT, ATOM, Mytel: all open, MPT serves a foreigner its Burmese edition.

Ad verification and search results

Eleven, Duwun, GNLM, google.com.mm: GNLM, Irrawaddy, Mizzima and Frontier sit behind a Cloudflare challenge.

What looks different from outside Myanmar

Of 23 sites we checked, 16 opened on the first request, six met the request with a Cloudflare challenge, one did not answer. Separately: some outlets on the list are blocked inside Myanmar, and through a Myanmar exit they may not open at all.

Cities people ask for here

A city is set with the _city_ suffix. The number beside it is how many networks our pool holds there.

Connection strings for Myanmar

The country is pinned with a suffix in the login. Host, port and password stay the same as for any other country.

A city goes in as a second suffix. Without it you will almost certainly get Yangon, which is right for most jobs. Mandalay is for when the target looks at the second city.

Myanmar exits, four ways

# rotating, a new address per request
curl -x login_c_MM:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org

# sticky, the same address for an hour
curl -x login_c_MM_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org

# pinned to Mandalay, the second city
curl -x login_c_MM_city_Mandalay:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org

# SOCKS5 on the same port: the scheme picks the protocol, not the number

An exit inside Myanmar sees Myanmar’s internet

This is the main thing to know. Since 2021 internet access in Myanmar has been restricted: some sites and services are blocked at carrier level, connectivity in individual regions is cut off for long periods, and in 2024 restrictions on VPNs were tightened. Our exit is a subscriber’s address inside the country, and it sees exactly what the subscriber sees.

For a job that means two things. First: targets blocked inside Myanmar may not open at all through a Myanmar exit, even though they are reachable from Europe. Second: the pipeline must be able to fall back to another country if the exit suddenly stops answering together with its region.

We sell addresses rather than a way around restrictions, external or internal.

Yangon holds 27 networks out of 33

All three of the country’s carriers are in the pool: the state-owned MPT in Yangon and Taunggyi, ATOM, the former Ooredoo, in Yangon, Mytel in Yangon and Bawlakhe. WELINK is present in three cities, the widest network in the pool, 5BB, Nine and Myanmar Country in two.

Yangon holds 27 networks, 21 of them only there: Frontiir, Fortune, Truenet, MaxxB, Horizon, Marga and fifteen more fibre and wireless providers. Mandalay six, and in seven cities out of nine exactly one network is available. Starlink in Yangon geolocates loosely. Mytel and Myanmar Information Highway appear under two names each, so by unique company the count is 31.

The catalogue names five regions out of fifteen: Yangon, Mandalay, Shan, Mon and Kayah. Naypyidaw, the capital, is absent. Two records carry no city name and are not counted.

Sixteen sites out of 23 are open from outside

We checked 23 well known Myanmar domains from Europe with a full browser header set, on 16 October 2026. Sixteen opened: Shop.com.mm, City Mart, foodpanda, Grab, the MPT, ATOM and Mytel carriers, the AYA and CB banks, the Central Bank, Myanmar Airways International, MNA, Yangon airport, and the Eleven, Duwun and Myanmar Now outlets.

Six met the request with a Cloudflare challenge: KBZ Bank, Wave Money, the state-owned GNLM, and the Irrawaddy, Mizzima and Frontier outlets. The Yangon city hall did not answer within 60 seconds.

Here the measurement reads differently from other countries. Irrawaddy, Mizzima, Frontier and Myanmar Now are blocked inside Myanmar, so through a Myanmar exit they are closed regardless of Cloudflare. An address is for local prices, delivery and bank dashboards, not for access to the outlets.

What Myanmar sites check beyond the address

The language is Burmese in its own script, and carriers, banks and retailers have English versions. MPT served a foreign address its Burmese edition, ATOM and CB Bank English. For collecting search results that is two passes.

The currency is the kyat, MMK, written Ks or K. The official and market rates diverge widely, and import prices often follow the market. Payments go through KBZPay and Wave Money, which expect a Myanmar number.

The time zone is UTC+6:30, one of the few in the world with a half-hour offset, and no daylight saving. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday.

How stable the exits are here

In Yangon there is plenty to switch to, and sessions hold as long as the region’s connectivity holds. In Mandalay the margin is small, and in the other cities there is one network and no rotation inside the city.

On size, plainly: 33 networks by name, 31 unique, 27 in Yangon. Plan your load against Yangon and keep a fallback country in case of shutdowns.

Choosing the setup for a Myanmar target

The short fork.

  • You need rotation across autonomous systems: Yangon unpinned, 27 networks.
  • You need a carrier: MPT, ATOM or Mytel, all three in the pool.
  • You need the second city: Mandalay, six networks.
  • The target is blocked inside Myanmar: a Myanmar exit will not open it, that is not a job for it.
  • You need a bank or wallet dashboard: a one hour sticky session and a Myanmar number.

What a month of Myanmar work costs

It is counted in traffic. A dollar per gigabyte.

  • Price monitoring across Shop.com.mm and City Mart, 20,000 listings a day with images blocked, roughly 110 KB per page: about 2.2 GB a day, around 66 GB a month, $66 on residential.
  • A daily sweep of a foodpanda delivery zone: a few gigabytes.
  • Ad verification, 200 placements a day at about 400 KB each: under 2.5 GB a month.

The legal part, stated plainly

As far as we know, Myanmar has no general personal data protection law, and data handling is governed by the electronic transactions law and sector rules. Communications are regulated by the Posts and Telecommunications Department, the PTD. Collecting publicly posted prices and processing personal data are different things, and before the second it is worth checking the current state of the law.

A proxy changes none of what you are allowed to do with data. It changes only which country the request appears to come from.

This is general information rather than legal advice. Our terms require lawful use and we act on abuse reports.

Verifying a Myanmar exit

Under a minute. The third command checks whether a site that is open from outside opens through the exit: if not, the exit has hit an internal restriction rather than the site’s protection.

Three checks

# 1. is the exit in Myanmar, and on which network
curl -s -x login_c_MM_city_Yangon:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://ipinfo.io/json

# 2. does a sticky session hold the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do curl -s -x login_c_MM_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org; echo; done

# 3. does an open site open through the exit
curl -s -m 30 -x login_c_MM:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}\n" https://www.shop.com.mm/

Where the numbers come from

The numbers on regions, cities and networks come from our residential pool catalogue as of 16 October 2026. Service entries with no city name are not counted. We ran the check on 23 Myanmar domains ourselves from Europe on the same day, with a full browser header set and a 45 second limit per answer; reachability from inside Myanmar was not part of this measurement.

Questions people ask before buying Myanmar addresses

Are MPT, ATOM and Mytel in the pool?

Yes, all three: MPT in Yangon and Taunggyi, ATOM in Yangon, Mytel in Yangon and Bawlakhe. The base of the pool is Yangon’s private providers.

What does “the exit sees Myanmar’s internet” mean?

Our address is a subscriber inside the country, and it is subject to the same restrictions: sites blocked in Myanmar will not open through it, and if a region’s connectivity is cut the exit disappears. We sell addresses rather than a way around restrictions.

Where is the deepest pool?

Yangon: 27 networks out of 33, 21 of them only there. Mandalay holds six, the other seven cities one each.

Do Myanmar sites block foreigners?

From outside, 16 of the 23 we checked are open. KBZ, Wave Money, GNLM and three outlets sit behind a Cloudflare challenge. But some outlets are blocked inside Myanmar, and that matters more than Cloudflare.

Do Myanmar addresses cost more?

No. The price is the same everywhere: residential from $1.00 per GB.
