Connection strings for Georgia
The country code is GE, upper case. The city goes after it with _city_, hyphens instead of spaces, in the order country, city, session, lifetime.
Georgian static addresses take no suffixes: the host is the IP from your dashboard, port 50100, SOCKS5 on 50101.

The first thing that changes the shape of a Georgian job, and it changes in your favour.
In large countries full market coverage is out of reach: there are dozens of platforms and you are always choosing what to collect. Here it is different. Cars are essentially one site, property two, retail and electronics a few more. Five or six domains give you practically the entire online market of the country.
That calls for a different plan. There is nowhere to expand sideways, so the work goes deeper instead: collect more often, parse the listing more fully, track changes more carefully. A daily pass over the whole market is realistic here, which is rare.
The flip side is that the load concentrates on a few domains, and rate limits become the binding constraint rather than coverage. Spread requests across time and across addresses, because hiding in a crowd of different targets is not available: the target is the same one.
The practical conclusion: budget by how often you hit a single domain rather than by pages per day. That is the number that runs out first.
Three writing systems in one country
The second difference, and it breaks data matching more often than blocking breaks collection.
Georgian uses its own alphabet, Mkhedruli: neither Latin nor Cyrillic, and with no division into upper and lower case. Alongside it, listings and search carry Latin transliteration and Russian. The same product or city district appears in three spellings on one platform.
For matching that means the name cannot be your key. Join on listing id, article number or coordinates, and keep the name as a hint. Otherwise the same car or apartment splits into three records.
For search it means a threefold keyword list. People search in Mkhedruli, in Latin letters and in Russian, and different categories lean towards different variants. A list built only in Georgian understates demand.
The technical part: watch your Unicode normalisation, and note that case-insensitive comparison is meaningless for Georgian. URL slugs are often transliterated or percent-encoded, so compare links in normalised form rather than as the string arrived.
What actually blocks you on Georgian targets
The familiar split, with a local emphasis on pace.
The large classifieds platforms filter hosting ranges and expect a home address: expect a 403 from datacenter.
Publishers and government sites serve datacenter addresses normally.
Apps and the platforms grown out of them sometimes expect a carrier address: that is where mobile helps.
The binding constraint here is not address class but pace: the market sits on a few domains, and per-domain frequency hits limits sooner than it would in a large country.
Which exits you get here, and how stable they are
The Georgian pool in practical terms.
The pool is small and Tbilisi-weighted: a country of three and a half million people, with the capital outweighing the rest. Batumi stands out separately, and beyond that the pool thins.
Response times from Europe are longer than the map suggests: traffic transits neighbouring countries, and an extra few tens of milliseconds is normal here. Do not shorten the thirty second timeout.
Home line quality in Tbilisi is good; in the regions the spread is wider.
Sticky sessions behave normally, and mobile rotates by physical reconnect: seconds rather than milliseconds, and the same address sometimes comes back.
Choosing the type for a Georgian target
The usual order.
- Start with a Georgian datacenter address: $1.15 per address per month.
- A 403 on the first request means hosting ranges are filtered. Move to country-level residential.
- If the target is an app and residential runs into a check, try a mobile address.
- A 429 arrives sooner than usual here, because you are hitting the same domain. Lower the pace and spread requests across addresses.
- Ask for a city only for Batumi, when the coastal market is being measured apart from the capital.
What Georgian sites check beyond the address
A Georgian address opens the first gate; language, time and number parsing decide the rest.
Send ka-GE, but verify the result: some platforms switch language on a button and remember the choice rather than reading the header.
The time zone is UTC+4 and, more importantly, it does not observe daylight saving. Neighbouring countries do, so the offset against them changes in summer, and a profile configured from a neighbour is an hour out precisely in the warm months.
The currency is the lari, written ₾, and the number format varies between platforms. Do not assume one parsing template for the whole country: pin the format per domain.
Consent banners are less common than in the EU but they exist: check whether the captured page is empty under a 200.
What a month of Georgian work costs
Three scenarios at our prices, so you have something to check a quote against.

The legal part, stated plainly
Georgia is not in the European Union, and GDPR does not apply here directly. The country has its own personal data protection legislation with its own regulator, and collecting data that identifies people in Georgia is governed by it regardless of where your company sits.
