Connection strings for Ireland
The country code is IE, upper case. The city goes after it with _city_, hyphens instead of spaces, in the order country, city, session, lifetime.
Irish addresses come through rotation and sticky sessions: no separate static host is involved, and the lifetime is set with the ttl suffix.

The main reason to buy addresses here, and it is not about the Irish market itself.
Since Britain left the European Union, Ireland is the only large country where the mass audience speaks English while sites must operate under European rules. For verification that means one thing: only from here can you see how an English page looks with a mandatory consent banner, a price in euros and a European catalogue.
A British address gives you the English, but the rules and the currency are different. A German or Spanish address gives you the rules, but the page is in the wrong language, and the English version, where one exists, is often a generic fallback rather than the working one.
So an Irish exit is what people take when the combination is the point. How an English-language creative renders to a European audience, what an English-speaking buyer sees in a European shop, how consent forms behave in English.
That also explains why companies with no Irish customers end up here: what interests them is not Ireland but the English-language storefront of the EU, and this is the cheapest place to collect it.
Not a smaller version of Britain
The second thing, and it trips up anyone who already has Britain configured.
A shared language suggests a shared market, but little else lines up. The currency is the euro, not the pound. Retail catalogues are Irish even where the brand is British. Delivery, lead times and availability are calculated separately.
For search that means a keyword list built on British data does not transfer. Wording differs in places and volumes differ almost everywhere, so positions against someone else’s list look respectable while the traffic is absent.
For ad verification it means a campaign bought for an English-speaking audience may run in both countries, in one only, or in both with different landing pages. From a British address you will not see which.
A note on Northern Ireland: it is part of the United Kingdom, and our Irish targeting does not serve addresses there. If that is the market you need, it is a British address rather than an Irish one.
What actually blocks you on Irish targets
The familiar Western European split.
Retail chains, DoneDeal and Daft filter server ranges and expect a home address: that means residential.
RTÉ, publishers and government sites rarely cause trouble.
Apps and the platforms grown out of them sometimes expect a carrier address: that is where mobile helps.
Search results are reachable but rate limited per address: more addresses rather than a different type.
Which exits you get here, and how stable they are
The Irish pool in practical terms.
The pool is small: a country of five million people, with Dublin outweighing the rest. Cork and Galway resolve, and beyond them the pool thins.
Line quality is good, response times from Europe are predictable and from Britain particularly short.
City targeting is rarely needed here: country level lands you in the capital region anyway, only more reliably.
Sticky sessions hold an address for up to fifty minutes, and mobile rotates by physical reconnect: seconds rather than milliseconds, and the same address sometimes comes back.
Choosing the type for an Irish target
The order here is short.
- Start with country-level residential: it passes on retail, classifieds and search, and you pay only for the gigabytes you pull.
- If a job has to run start to finish on one address, add a sticky session with a lifetime.
- If the target is an app and residential runs into a check, try a mobile address.
- A 429 after many requests is a per-address rate limit: more addresses, not a different type.
- Ask for a city only when comparing Dublin against the regions. Otherwise country level is more reliable.
What Irish sites check beyond the address
An Irish address opens the first gate; the language header and number parsing decide the rest.
Send en-IE. An en-GB header on an Irish address is an uncommon combination, and on some platforms it also switches you to the British storefront.
The number format is English: 1,299.90 €, a comma for thousands and a dot for decimals. That is the trap for anyone who configured parsing on continental Europe, where it is the other way round: a parser arriving from a German project will be out by three orders of magnitude.
The time zone is UTC+0 in winter and UTC+1 in summer, an hour behind most of the EU. A profile on Central European time is out.
Consent banners are mandatory and cover the content: a scraper that does not handle them captures an empty page under a successful status code.
Irish is an official language but barely used on the commercial web: ga-IE only makes sense on government sites.
What a month of Irish work costs
