Connection strings for Thailand
The country code is TH, upper case. The city goes after it with _city_, hyphens instead of spaces, in the order country, city, session, lifetime.
Thai static addresses take no suffixes: the host is the IP from your dashboard, port 50100, SOCKS5 on 50101.

Capital concentration is more pronounced in Thailand than in almost any country we cover, and it affects two things at once.
The first is the pool. Home devices and connectivity sit in and around Bangkok, so a country-level request will almost always land you there anyway. A request for Chiang Mai or Khon Kaen succeeds less often, and the further from the capital the less often it is.
The second is routing. The country’s international connectivity also runs through the capital and onward through regional hubs, so a Bangkok datacenter address gives the best domestic paths while anything heading outward transits the region regardless.
The practical conclusion is simple: for Thai targets ask for country level and do not spend time on cities unless you are measuring something genuinely regional. The fallback would take you to the same place.
A mobile address is needed here more often than in Europe
This is the main difference from European countries when it comes to choosing a product.
A large share of the Thai internet is built around the phone rather than the desktop: shopping, messaging and a good deal of commerce live inside apps. Platforms grown in that environment expect a carrier address far more readily and treat everything else with more suspicion.
In practice a setup that would have worked on residential in Germany can run into a check here that only a mobile address clears. At $5.76 a day it is the most expensive product we sell, so the decision should follow the target rather than habit: if the platform is mobile by nature, a mobile address is a condition rather than a luxury.
The reverse holds too: for ordinary retail and search results mobile is not needed here, residential is enough, and the price difference between them is substantial.
What actually blocks you on Thai targets
The familiar split, with an addition about mobile platforms.
Marketplaces and the classifieds platforms filter hosting ranges: expect a 403 from datacenter and plan for residential.
Publishers and forums serve datacenter addresses normally, and Thai datacenter capacity is inexpensive.
Apps and mobile-first platforms are a separate group where residential passes less well than a mobile address, and this is the only country we have covered so far where that comes up regularly.
Search results are reachable but rate limited per address: more addresses rather than a different type.
Which exits you get here, and how stable they are
The Thai pool in practical terms.
Residential is almost entirely Bangkok. Outside the capital there are noticeably fewer devices, so city targeting here is a preference rather than a tool, and a country-level fallback is always needed.
Sticky sessions behave normally, but home line quality is uneven: fast in Bangkok, slower in the provinces, and on residential that occasionally shows up as spread in response times inside a single job.
Static behaves predictably and costs little, and mobile rotates by physical reconnect as everywhere: seconds rather than milliseconds, and the same address sometimes comes back.
Choosing the type for a Thai target
The order differs slightly here because mobile plays a larger role.
- Start with datacenter. If the target serves you normally, stop: $1.15 per address per month.
- A 403 on the first request means hosting ranges are filtered. Move to country-level residential.
- If the target is an app or a platform grown out of one and residential runs into a check, try a mobile address: that happens more often here than in Europe.
- A 429 after many requests is a per-address rate limit: more addresses, not a different type.
- Accounts belong on ISP when the platform does not expect a carrier, and on mobile when it does.
What Thai sites check beyond the address
A Thai address opens the first gate; language and timezone decide the rest.
Send th-TH in Accept-Language. Many Thai sites keep an English version and will happily hand it to a visitor who did not ask for Thai, and your collection then holds a page a local never sees.
There is one timezone for the whole country, Asia/Bangkok, and the easiest way to get it wrong is by copying a profile from a European setup: the gap is several hours rather than one.
Then the usual: consent banners hide content, and a scraper that does not handle them captures an empty page under a successful status code.
What a month of Thai work costs
Three scenarios at our prices, so you have something to check a quote against.
- Price monitoring across Thai marketplaces, 30,000 listings a day with images blocked, roughly 90 KB per page. That is about 2.7 GB a day, around 81 GB a month: $81 on residential.
- If the targets do not filter hosting ranges, the same jobs on ten datacenter addresses cost $13.50 a month.
- One mobile address for app work comes to roughly $173 a month. That is more than everything else combined, so take it only when the platform genuinely expects a carrier.
The legal part, stated plainly
Thailand has its own personal data protection act, separate from the European regime. Collecting data that identifies people in Thailand is governed by it regardless of where your company sits or which address your traffic exits through.
