Ecuador proxies

Our catalogue lists 24 regions, 133 cities and 200 networks for Ecuador. By density this is the best country of the ones we have gone through recently: exactly one network is available in 56 cities out of 133, against 77 of 134 in Venezuela and 130 of 185 in Slovakia. There are two centres here and they are near equal: Quito with 45 networks and Guayaquil with 43. What follows is not a cliff but a real second tier: Cuenca 27, Machala and Ambato 18 each, Loja 17.

Cities people ask for here

A city is set with the _city_ suffix. The number beside it is how many networks our pool holds there.

Connection strings for Ecuador

The country is pinned with a suffix in the login. Host, port and password stay the same as for any other country.

A city goes in as a second suffix. In Ecuador that stays useful noticeably further down the list than in neighbouring countries: a decent choice of networks exists in roughly a dozen cities.

The widest network in the country is a wholesale one

First place by city count goes to Ufinet: 79 cities out of 133, more than any home provider. That detail matters, because Ufinet is a wholesale operator: it sells capacity to providers rather than to subscribers.

So pinning Ufinet gives you an Ecuadorian address but not the trail of an ordinary home connection. If the target looks specifically at the consumer profile of the network, pin CNT, Netlife, Telconet or Xtrim.

Home networks rank like this by reach: the Telconet group together with its retail brand Netlife in 45 cities, Xtrim in 35, the state carrier CNT in 16, Claro in 13, and Otecel, under which Movistar operates, in 10.

Two hundred networks is a count of names, not of companies

In the catalogue one company often sits under several entries. Telconet appears as Telconet and Telconet S.A, plus its retail brand Netlife separately. Xtrim is split across Xtrim Fibra, Xtrim and Xtrim Cable.

Their cities cannot be added up. For the Telconet group the sum gives 62 cities and the union 45. For Xtrim the sum is 44 and the union 35. We count the union everywhere.

The tail here is long and genuine: 139 networks out of 200 appear in exactly one city, and some of the small providers are registered to private individuals. Nine networks clear the ten city mark.

Two centres rather than one

Quito and Guayaquil are near equal by pool: 45 networks against 43. Twenty three networks are found only in Quito, eighteen only in Guayaquil.

This is not a formality. Quito is the capital in the mountains at around two thousand eight hundred metres; Guayaquil is the coastal port and the commercial centre of the country. Assortment, prices and delivery differ between them, so a country wide snapshot taken from one city is a snapshot of half the country.

The second tier here is alive too, unlike in the neighbours: Cuenca 27 networks, Machala and Ambato 18 each, Loja 17, Manta and Riobamba 14. You can work beyond two points.

What gets in the way here is Cloudflare, not geography

We checked eighteen well known Ecuadorian domains from Europe with a full browser header set. Eleven opened: the Pichincha, Guayaquil and Produbanco banks, Mercado Libre, Supermaxi, Tía, Multitrabajos, the SRI tax authority, the Registro Civil, Teleamazonas and Claro.

Seven came back closed. Six of them are bot protection on commercial sites: De Prati and Plusvalía answer with a cf-mitigated header set to challenge, and behind them come Patio Tuerca, Marathon Sports, Ecuavisa and PedidosYa. The seventh is the site of the state carrier CNT, and that one simply times out.

The conclusion for the job is simple. An Ecuadorian address is needed here not to get through a country barrier but to avoid looking like a server. Government sites and banks are open without it; what is closed is commercial retail and the classifieds.

The country runs on the US dollar

Ecuador has been dollarised since 2000 and has no national currency. For price monitoring that is a rare convenience: there is no exchange rate difference, and the figures on a shelf compare directly with American ones.

And the flip side is pleasant. A basket in dollars does not give away a foreigner here, because the dollar is the local currency. In Venezuela or Slovakia that signal works against you; in Ecuador it does not.

If you are building a regional comparison across Latin America, Ecuador is convenient as a reference point: it is the only large country in the region where the number on the price tag does not have to be divided by anything.

What blocks you here beyond the address

The language is Spanish, the es-EC variant. An Accept-Language header without Spanish looks foreign on a local version of a page.

The country spans two time zones, the mainland and the Galápagos. It does not change its clocks.

Links here are noticeably better than Venezuelan ones and worse than European ones. Moderately generous timeouts will not hurt.

How stable the exits are here

Connections in Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca hold well and sessions live predictably. The second tier is acceptable too, and that is what sets Ecuador apart from its neighbours.

On the pool, plainly: two hundred networks by count, but six that are genuinely large and nine that clear the ten city mark. Plan your load against those numbers rather than against two hundred.

Choosing the setup for an Ecuadorian target

The short fork.

  • You need prices and trade: residential plus Guayaquil.
  • You need the capital and government services: residential plus Quito.
  • You want the look of an ordinary home subscriber: pin CNT, Netlife or Xtrim, but not Ufinet.
  • The target sits behind bot protection: any Ecuadorian residential exit will do.
  • You need volume: work across both centres plus Cuenca, the pool there is genuinely deep.

What a month of Ecuadorian work costs

It is counted in traffic. A dollar per gigabyte.

  • Price checks across a few hundred listings a day: single gigabytes a month.
  • A daily sweep of a large retail category: tens of gigabytes.
  • Account work through a browser: a few hundred megabytes per account per day.

The legal part, stated plainly

Ecuador has an organic law on personal data protection, passed in 2021 and modelled on the European one. It has little bearing on collecting publicly posted prices and a direct bearing on personal data.

A proxy changes none of what you are allowed to do with data. It changes only which country the request appears to come from.

Verifying an Ecuadorian exit

Confirm the exit is Ecuadorian, that the session holds, and that a target behind bot protection lets you in from a residential address while it does not from an ordinary one.

Three checks

# 1. is the exit Ecuadorian, and on which carrier
curl -s -x login_c_EC:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://ipinfo.io/json

# 2. does a sticky session hold the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do curl -s -x login_c_EC_s_600:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org; echo; done

# 3. the same target with and without the proxy: compare the codes
curl -s -o /dev/null -w "direct: %{http_code}
" -L https://www.deprati.com.ec/
curl -s -o /dev/null -w "residential: %{http_code}
" -x login_c_EC:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 -L https://www.deprati.com.ec/

Where the numbers come from

The numbers on regions, cities and networks come from our residential pool catalogue as of 8 September 2026. Service entries with no city or region name are not counted. We checked the eighteen Ecuadorian domains ourselves from Europe on the same day, with a full browser header set: without one, some sites answer 403 simply because the request does not look like a browser, which is easy to mistake for address based blocking.

  • ARCOTEL, the Ecuadorian telecoms regulatorOfficial operator statistics, if you want to check the shape of the market against our pool.
  • UfinetThe site of the widest network in our Ecuadorian pool. It shows the company is wholesale and sells capacity to providers.

Questions people ask before buying Ecuadorian addresses

You list two hundred networks, how many are real?

Two hundred is a count of names in the catalogue. One company often sits under several entries: Telconet together with the Netlife brand gives 45 cities against a sum of 62, Xtrim 35 against a sum of 44. Nine networks clear the ten city mark, and 139 appear in exactly one city.

Quito or Guayaquil?

The pools are near equal, 45 networks against 43, so choose by the job. Guayaquil is the port and trade; Quito is the capital and government services. Prices and assortment differ between them, so for a country snapshot it is sensible to take both.

Why do you advise against pinning Ufinet?

Ufinet is the widest network in the country by city count, but it is wholesale: it sells capacity to providers rather than to subscribers. You get an Ecuadorian address without the trail of an ordinary home connection. For that there are CNT, Netlife, Telconet and Xtrim.

Do Ecuadorian sites block foreigners at all?

Almost never. Of the eighteen domains we checked, eleven opened from outside, including banks, government sites and marketplaces. Seven came back closed, six of them bot protection on commercial sites. A residential address is what solves that, not a country barrier.
