Nepal proxies
Our catalogue lists all seven provinces, 39 city records and 28 networks for Nepal. The pool rests on two networks: the state-owned Nepal Telecom is present in 17 cities out of 35, the private WorldLink in twelve, and without them little remains. Kathmandu holds 16 networks, Butwal six, Pokhara four, and in 22 cities out of 35 exactly one network is available. And what we checked ourselves: Nepal is the most open country we have measured. Of 28 well known Nepali sites, 26 opened on the first request from Europe, Daraz, eSewa, Khalti and Mero Share included. An address here is for Nepali prices and wallets, not for access.
What we have in Nepal
The price is the same as in every other country we cover.
What Nepali addresses get used for
Marketplaces
Daraz Nepal, Hamrobazar, Gyapu, Muncha: all open, the address is for rupee prices and the Nepali assortment.
Wallets and banks
eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, Nabil, NIC Asia, Global IME: the pages are open, but the wallets expect a Nepali phone number.
The exchange and shares
NEPSE, Mero Share: open from outside, the address is for the look of an ordinary investor.
Delivery and airlines
Pathao, Foodmandu, Buddha Air, Yeti, Nepal Airlines: local fares and availability.
Ad verification and search results
eKantipur, Onlinekhabar, Setopati, Kathmandu Post, google.com.np: campaigns bought for a Nepali audience.
What looks different from outside Nepal
Of 28 sites we checked, 26 opened on the first request. Two did not answer at all, and not one answered 403. This is the most open market in our measurements.
What a residential address gives you here
Cities people ask for here
A city is set with the _city_ suffix. The number beside it is how many networks our pool holds there.
The setups people take here most often
- 01Residential plus KathmanduSixteen networks and the only real rotation across autonomous systems
- 02Residential, country level, with Nepal Telecom pinnedSeventeen cities on one carrier, a home-subscriber look across the country
- 03Residential plus Pokhara or ButwalFor when the target looks at the province
- 04A one hour sticky sessionFor wallets, Mero Share and dashboards
Connection strings for Nepal
The country is pinned with a suffix in the login. Host, port and password stay the same as for any other country.
A city goes in as a second suffix. Without it you most often get Kathmandu, which is right for most jobs. Pokhara, Butwal and Biratnagar are for when the target looks at the province.
Nepali exits, four ways
# rotating, a new address per request
curl -x login_c_NP:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org
# sticky, the same address for an hour
curl -x login_c_NP_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org
# pinned to Pokhara, four networks
curl -x login_c_NP_city_Pokhara:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org
# SOCKS5 on the same port: the scheme picks the protocol, not the number
curl -x socks5h://login_c_NP:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.orgTwo networks hold the country
Nepal Telecom, the state carrier, is present in 17 cities out of 35, from Mahendranagar in the west to Jhapa in the east. WorldLink, the largest private provider, in twelve. Then a sharp drop: Vianet in six, Subisu in four, Techminds and DishHome in three. The remaining 22 networks cover one or two cities.
The second mobile carrier, Ncell, is not in the pool. Nepal Telecom operates both fixed-line and mobile, so its addresses do have a home look, but a mobile carrier of your choosing is not available here.
For a job that means something simple: outside Kathmandu you are almost always on Nepal Telecom or WorldLink, and it is worth pinning them explicitly, so that the single provider of a small town does not become your exit by accident.
Kathmandu holds more than half
Kathmandu is 16 networks out of 28: both national ones, Vianet, Subisu, Techminds, DishHome, Classic Tech, Websurfer, CG Communications and seven more local ones. Butwal holds six, Pokhara four, Biratnagar and Jhapa three each.
All seven provinces are present, but depth exists only in Bagmati and Lumbini. In 22 cities out of 35 exactly one network is available, and most often it is Nepal Telecom. Four records carry no city name and are not counted.
The private providers in the catalogue are very local: Pokhara Internet in Pokhara, Waling Internet in Waling, Super Sitapaila Cable Net in one district of Kathmandu. An address on such a network looks like a home subscriber, but there is no rotation inside the city on it.
Twenty six sites out of 28 are open
We checked 28 well known Nepali domains from Europe with a full browser header set, on 16 October 2026. Twenty six opened: Daraz Nepal, Hamrobazar, Gyapu, Muncha, eSewa, Khalti, Nepal Telecom, Ncell, WorldLink, the Nabil, NIC Asia and Global IME banks, Rastra Bank, the NEPSE exchange and Mero Share, the Nagarik App government portal and the IRD tax office, Pathao, Foodmandu, Buddha Air, Yeti, Nepal Airlines, and the eKantipur, Onlinekhabar, Setopati and Kathmandu Post outlets.
Only IME Pay and Sastodeal did not answer, both silent for 60 seconds. Not one 403, not one challenge, not one redirect to another edition. We have not had that result in any other country.
The practical conclusion: in Nepal an address does not open doors, they are already open. It is for what a local sees: rupee prices on Daraz, Nepali search results, wallets and the exchange as an ordinary resident. If a target turns out to be closed from outside, it is not on this list.
What Nepali sites check beyond the address
The languages are Nepali and English. The commercial web is almost entirely English, the outlets are bilingual, and on Nepali pages the digits are often Devanagari.
The currency is the rupee, NPR, written Rs or रू. Thousands follow the Indian grouping: 1,00,000 rather than 100,000. The eSewa and Khalti wallets are the main way to pay, and they expect a Nepali phone number; the address alone will not open a payment.
The time zone is UTC+5:45, one of the few in the world with 45 minutes, and no daylight saving. The weekend is one day, Saturday: Sunday is a working day.
How stable the exits are here
In Kathmandu there is something to switch to and sessions hold. In Butwal and Pokhara the margin is small, and in the other cities there is one network and no rotation inside the city.
On size, plainly: 28 networks by name, two national, the rest local providers. Plan your load against Kathmandu and pin Nepal Telecom or WorldLink for everything outside the capital.
Choosing the setup for a Nepali target
The short fork.
- You need rotation across autonomous systems: Kathmandu unpinned, 16 networks.
- You need the whole country with a home look: country level with Nepal Telecom pinned, 17 cities.
- You need a province: Pokhara, Butwal or Biratnagar, the rest selectively.
- You need a wallet or Mero Share: a one hour sticky session and a Nepali phone number; the address alone will not open it.
- The target expects Ncell: Nepal in our pool will not cover it, there is no Ncell.
What a month of Nepali work costs
It is counted in traffic. A dollar per gigabyte.
- Price monitoring across Daraz and Hamrobazar, 20,000 listings a day with images blocked, roughly 110 KB per page: about 2.2 GB a day, around 66 GB a month, $66 on residential.
- A daily sweep of one Hamrobazar category: tens of gigabytes.
- Ad verification, 200 placements a day at about 400 KB each: under 2.5 GB a month.
The legal part, stated plainly
Nepal has a privacy act from 2018 and an electronic transactions act from 2008. Collecting publicly posted prices and processing personal data are different things, and the second is regulated separately.
Communications are regulated by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the NTA. A proxy changes none of what you are allowed to do with data. It changes only which country the request appears to come from.
This is general information rather than legal advice. Our terms require lawful use and we act on abuse reports.
Verifying a Nepali exit
Under a minute. The first command matters most here: it shows the city and the carrier, and in 22 cities out of 35 there is only one carrier.
Three checks
# 1. is the exit Nepali, in which city, and on which network
curl -s -x login_c_NP_city_Pokhara:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://ipinfo.io/json
# 2. does a sticky session hold the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do curl -s -x login_c_NP_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org; echo; done
# 3. does Daraz serve the Nepali edition through the exit
curl -s -x login_c_NP:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code} %{url_effective}\n" https://www.daraz.com.np/What to read next
Where the numbers come from
The numbers on provinces, cities and networks come from our residential pool catalogue as of 16 October 2026. Service entries with no city name are not counted. We ran the check on 28 Nepali domains ourselves from Europe on the same day, with a full browser header set and a 60 second limit per answer.
- NTA, the Nepali telecommunications regulatorOfficial carrier and provider data, if you want to check the shape of the market against our pool.
- Nepal TelecomThe widest network in our Nepali pool: 17 cities.
- WorldLinkThe largest private provider and the second network in the pool: twelve cities.
- Daraz NepalThe main marketplace, open from outside, prices in rupees.
Questions people ask before buying Nepali addresses
Is it true that Nepali sites do not block foreigners?
In our measurement, yes: of the 28 we checked, 26 opened on the first request, not one 403. Only IME Pay and Sastodeal stayed silent. An address here is for local prices and wallets, not for access.
Where is the deepest pool?
Kathmandu: 16 networks out of 28. Butwal holds six, Pokhara four, Biratnagar and Jhapa three each. In 22 cities out of 35 there is exactly one network.
Is Ncell in the pool?
No. Of the mobile carriers only Nepal Telecom, which also operates fixed-line. If the target expects Ncell specifically, Nepal from us will not cover it.
Why does a wallet not open a payment even from a Nepali address?
Because eSewa and Khalti expect a Nepali phone number. The address opens the page; it does not replace the number.
Do Nepali addresses cost more?
No. The price is the same everywhere: residential from $1.00 per GB.
