Sri Lanka proxies

Our catalogue lists seven of Sri Lanka’s nine provinces, 47 city records and just five networks. By carriers this is the narrowest pool we have gone through: Sri Lanka Telecom is present in 37 cities out of 46, Dialog in fifteen, and in 27 cities SLT is the only network available. Three of the five networks are not home connections at all: the educational LEARN, Starlink, and the corporate Lanka Communication Services. And what we checked ourselves: of 28 well known Sri Lankan sites, 23 are open from outside, and the closed ones are exactly the four classifieds, ikman, Riyasewana, LankaPropertyWeb and PatPat, all behind a Cloudflare challenge.

What we have in Sri Lanka

The price is the same as in every other country we cover.

What Sri Lankan addresses get used for

Classifieds

ikman, Riyasewana, LankaPropertyWeb, PatPat: all four closed from outside, strictly a local-address job.

Marketplaces and retail

Daraz Sri Lanka, Kapruka, Keells, Cargills Online: open, the address is for rupee prices and availability.

Banks and the exchange

Commercial Bank, Sampath, BOC, People’s Bank, CSE: checking dashboards and pages as a customer sees them.

Travel and transport

SriLankan Airlines, PickMe: local fares and availability.

Ad verification and search results

Hiru, Ada Derana, Newsfirst, Daily Mirror, google.lk: campaigns bought for a Sri Lankan audience, in three languages.

What looks different from outside Sri Lanka

Of 28 sites we checked, 23 opened on the first request. Four met the request with a Cloudflare challenge, one failed the certificate check. We sell addresses rather than a way past detection.

What a residential address gives you here

Cities people ask for here

A city is set with the _city_ suffix. The number beside it is how many networks our pool holds there.

Connection strings for Sri Lanka

The country is pinned with a suffix in the login. Host, port and password stay the same as for any other country.

A city goes in as a second suffix, but here the carrier matters more: in 36 cities out of 46 there is one network, and choosing a city is a choice between SLT and Dialog rather than between providers.

Sri Lankan exits, four ways

# rotating, a new address per request

# sticky, the same address for an hour

Five networks, two of them home carriers

The whole Sri Lankan pool is five names. Sri Lanka Telecom, the state carrier, is present in 37 cities out of 46 and is the only one in 27 of them. Dialog Axiata, the largest mobile carrier, in fifteen. That is where the home networks end.

The other three are not subscribers. LEARN, the education and research network, sits in five cities, and in three of them, Siyambalape, Warakapola and Kundasale, it is the only one: an address from there looks like a university. Starlink in Colombo geolocates loosely. Lanka Communication Services in Kadawatha is a corporate provider.

Hutch and Airtel Lanka, the country’s two other mobile carriers, are not in the pool. For a job that means something simple: pin the carrier explicitly, SLT or Dialog, or in a one-network city a university may become your exit.

The Western Province holds 29 cities out of 46

The catalogue names seven provinces out of nine, but 29 cities out of 46 lie in the Western Province around Colombo: Moratuwa, Nugegoda, Maharagama, Battaramulla, Gampaha, Negombo and two dozen more suburbs. Sabaragamuwa gives five cities, the North Western four, the Southern three, the Central and North Central two each, the Northern one, Jaffna.

The Eastern Province and Uva are absent from the catalogue altogether. Colombo holds four networks, Moratuwa three, nine cities two each, and in 36 cities out of 46 exactly one network is available.

There is no depth outside Colombo, but it is not needed here either: with two home carriers for the country, rotation across autonomous systems is limited to two networks anywhere.

Twenty three sites out of 28 open, the four classifieds do not

We checked 28 well known Sri Lankan domains from Europe with a full browser header set, on 16 October 2026. Twenty three opened: Daraz, Kapruka, Keells, Cargills Online, PickMe, SriLankan Airlines, the SLT, Dialog, Mobitel, Hutch and Airtel carriers, the Commercial, Sampath, BOC and People’s banks, the Central Bank, the CSE exchange, the government portal and the IRD tax office, and the Hiru, Ada Derana, Newsfirst and Daily Mirror outlets.

Exactly four are closed, and all four are classifieds: ikman, Riyasewana, LankaPropertyWeb and PatPat met the request with a Cloudflare challenge and answered 403. Odel failed the certificate check. That is protection against automation rather than a country filter, but for the classifieds a Sri Lankan address is needed anyway: prices and listings there are tied to the local market.

The practical conclusion: retail, banks and publishers are open from outside, and an address there is for local conditions. Classifieds, the main Sri Lankan scenario, are closed, and there residential is the only option.

What Sri Lankan sites check beyond the address

Three languages: Sinhala, Tamil and English. The commercial web is English, the outlets are trilingual, and Newsfirst served a foreign address its English edition by default. For collecting search results that is three passes.

The currency is the rupee, LKR, written Rs. A comma for thousands. Cards are accepted, but local wallets and bank transfers are tied to a Sri Lankan number.

The time zone is UTC+5:30 with no daylight saving. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday, plus a monthly full moon holiday, Poya, when some services pause.

How stable the exits are here

In Colombo there is something to switch to and sessions hold. Across the rest of the country there are one or two networks per city, and rotation inside a city is at best a switch between SLT and Dialog.

On size, plainly: five networks, two home carriers. Plan your load against SLT pinned across the country, and treat Dialog as the second option.

Choosing the setup for a Sri Lankan target

The short fork.

  • You need a home look across the country: country level with SLT pinned, 37 cities.
  • You need a mobile carrier: Dialog, fifteen cities.
  • You need rotation: Colombo unpinned, four networks, though one of them is Starlink.
  • The target answered 403 from outside: country level residential, which is ikman, Riyasewana, LankaPropertyWeb, PatPat.
  • You need a bank dashboard: a one hour sticky session, one session per account.

What a month of Sri Lankan work costs

It is counted in traffic. A dollar per gigabyte.

  • Price monitoring across Daraz and Kapruka, 20,000 listings a day with images blocked, roughly 110 KB per page: about 2.2 GB a day, around 66 GB a month, $66 on residential.
  • A daily sweep of one ikman category: tens of gigabytes.
  • Ad verification, 200 placements a day at about 400 KB each: under 2.5 GB a month.

The legal part, stated plainly

Sri Lanka has a personal data protection act from 2022, coming into force in stages, supervised by the Data Protection Authority. Collecting publicly posted prices and processing personal data are different things, and the second is regulated separately.

Communications are regulated by the TRCSL. A proxy changes none of what you are allowed to do with data. It changes only which country the request appears to come from.

This is general information rather than legal advice. Our terms require lawful use and we act on abuse reports.

Verifying a Sri Lankan exit

Under a minute. The first command matters most here: it shows the carrier, and of the five networks two are home carriers.

Three checks

# 1. is the exit Sri Lankan, and on which network
curl -s -x login_c_LK_city_Colombo:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://ipinfo.io/json

# 2. does a sticky session hold the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do curl -s -x login_c_LK_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org; echo; done

# 3. does the closed classifieds site open through the exit
curl -s -x login_c_LK:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}\n" https://ikman.lk/

Where the numbers come from

The numbers on provinces, cities and networks come from our residential pool catalogue as of 16 October 2026. Service entries with no city name are not counted. We ran the check on 28 Sri Lankan domains ourselves from Europe on the same day, with a full browser header set and a 45 second limit per answer.

Questions people ask before buying Sri Lankan addresses

Why are there only five networks in the pool?

Because the Sri Lankan access market rests on two carriers, and both are in the pool: SLT in 37 cities out of 46, Dialog in fifteen. The other three networks are not home connections: LEARN, Starlink and the corporate Lanka Communication Services.

Are Hutch or Airtel in the pool?

No. Of the mobile carriers only Dialog, and SLT operates fixed-line. If the target expects Hutch or Airtel specifically, Sri Lanka from us will not cover it.

Do Sri Lankan sites block foreigners?

The classifieds do: ikman, Riyasewana, LankaPropertyWeb and PatPat answered 403 behind a Cloudflare challenge. Retail, banks and publishers are open, 23 of the 28 we checked.

Why does the address look like a university?

Because in Siyambalape, Warakapola and Kundasale the only network is the educational LEARN. Pin SLT or Dialog and it will not happen.

Do Sri Lankan addresses cost more?

No. The price is the same everywhere: residential from $1.00 per GB.
