Kenya proxies

Our catalogue lists 22 counties, 23 city records and 90 networks for Kenya. Ninety is more than any other country in this batch, and nearly all of them sit in one place: Nairobi holds 69 networks, more than any other African city we cover and second only to Lima across the catalogue, Mombasa six, Nakuru five, Eldoret four. In 16 cities out of 21 exactly one network is available. And what we checked ourselves: of 23 well known Kenyan sites, nine refuse a plain request from Europe, Jumia, Jiji and eCitizen among them, and Nation sends a foreign address to its diaspora edition.

What we have in Kenya

The price is the same as in every other country we cover.

What Kenyan addresses get used for

Marketplaces and retail

Jumia Kenya, Kilimall, Carrefour Kenya, Naivas: Jumia is closed from outside, Kilimall and Carrefour are open.

Classifieds and property

Jiji, PigiaMe, BuyRentKenya, Property24, Cheki: four of the five refuse a foreign address.

Fintech and banks

Safaricom and M-Pesa, KCB, Equity, Co-op Bank: checking dashboards and payment pages as a customer sees them.

Betting

SportPesa, Betika: SportPesa is closed from outside, Betika is open on its Kenyan edition.

Publishers and search results

Nation, Standard, The Star, google.co.ke: Nation serves a foreigner its diaspora edition.

What looks different from outside Kenya

Of 23 sites we checked, nine did not serve the Kenyan page to a plain request from Europe and three did not answer at all. We sell addresses rather than a way past detection.

Connection strings for Kenya

The country is pinned with a suffix in the login. Host, port and password stay the same as for any other country.

A city goes in as a second suffix. Without it you will almost certainly get Nairobi, which is right for most jobs. Mombasa and Nakuru are for when the target looks at the county.

Nairobi: 69 networks, the deepest city in Africa

Only Lima in our catalogue holds more networks in one city, 79. For comparison: San José in Costa Rica has 24, Lagos 32, Riyadh nine. Nairobi has 69 of Kenya’s 90.

The other side of that: it is a count of names, and most of them are small fibre providers serving offices and residential estates. The home carriers in the usual sense are Safaricom, the widest network in the pool with seven counties, Wananchi under the Zuku brand also with seven, and Airtel with two. Poa Internet, Wavex, AccessKenya and Liquid are access providers whose address a platform more often reads as a business.

Two networks are worth knowing by name. KENET, the Kenya Education Network, sits in four counties, and an address on it looks like a university. The United Nations Office in Nairobi is in the catalogue as its own network, and that is certainly not a home subscriber. If the job needs the look of an ordinary resident, pin Safaricom or Zuku.

Outside the capital, one network per city

The catalogue covers 22 counties, but with one city per county: Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Meru, Nyeri, Kericho, Malindi, Kilifi, Diani, Nanyuki, Ruiru, Athi River, Chuka, Garissa, Isiolo, Marsabit, Lodwar, Eldama Ravine. In 16 cities out of 21 exactly one network is available.

Depth exists in four places only: Nairobi 69, Mombasa six, Nakuru five, Eldoret four. The rest is a way to show the right county, not a way to rotate inside it.

Two records carry no city name and are not counted: 23 records is 21 named cities.

Eleven sites out of 23 open, twelve do not

We checked 23 well known Kenyan domains from Europe with a full browser header set, on 16 October 2026. Eleven opened: Kilimall, Carrefour Kenya, Cheki, Betika on its Kenyan edition, the Standard and The Star outlets, Safaricom and Airtel, the KCB and Co-op banks, and the KRA tax authority.

Nine answered differently. Jumia, Jiji, BuyRentKenya, PigiaMe, SportPesa, eCitizen and Kenya Airways answered 403, Property24 503. Nation first redirected a foreign address to its diaspora edition and then closed that too with a 403: a rare case of a platform explicitly separating the local reader from the one abroad. Telkom Kenya, Equity Bank and Naivas did not answer a plain request within 60 seconds.

The practical conclusion: Kilimall, Carrefour, the KCB and Co-op banks and the publishers are open from outside, and an address there is for local conditions. Jumia, classifieds, property, eCitizen and SportPesa are closed, and there a Kenyan address is for access.

What Kenyan sites check beyond the address

The languages are English and Swahili, and the commercial web is almost entirely English: one pass.

The currency is the shilling, KES, written KSh. Western digits with a comma for thousands. M-Pesa is not just a payment option but the layer most retail runs through, and payment pages often expect a Kenyan phone number rather than only an address.

The time zone is UTC+3 with no daylight saving. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday.

How stable the exits are here

In Nairobi there is plenty to switch to and sessions hold. In Mombasa, Nakuru and Eldoret the margin is small, and in the other cities there is one network and no rotation inside it.

On size, plainly: 90 networks by name, two home carriers for the whole country, the rest access providers and educational networks. Plan your load against Nairobi and pick the carrier for the look the target needs.

Choosing the setup for a Kenyan target

The short fork.

  • You need a home-subscriber look: Nairobi with Safaricom or Zuku pinned.
  • You need rotation across autonomous systems: Nairobi unpinned, 69 networks.
  • You need a county outside the capital: Mombasa, Nakuru or Eldoret, the rest selectively.
  • The target answered 403 from outside: country level residential, which is Jumia, Jiji, eCitizen, SportPesa.
  • You need a dashboard with M-Pesa: a one hour sticky session and a Kenyan phone number; the address alone will not open it.

What a month of Kenyan work costs

It is counted in traffic. A dollar per gigabyte.

  • Price monitoring across Jumia and Kilimall, 20,000 listings a day with images blocked, roughly 110 KB per page: about 2.2 GB a day, around 66 GB a month, $66 on residential.
  • A daily sweep of one Jiji category: tens of gigabytes.
  • Ad verification, 200 placements a day at about 400 KB each: under 2.5 GB a month.

The legal part, stated plainly

Kenya has a data protection act from 2019, supervised by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, the ODPC. Collecting publicly posted prices and processing personal data are different things, and the second is regulated separately.

Communications are regulated by the Communications Authority of Kenya. A proxy changes none of what you are allowed to do with data. It changes only which country the request appears to come from.

This is general information rather than legal advice. Our terms require lawful use and we act on abuse reports.

Verifying a Kenyan exit

Under a minute. The third command shows whether Nation has stopped sending you to the diaspora edition: through a Kenyan exit the redirect should disappear.

Three checks

# 1. is the exit Kenyan, and on which network
curl -s -x login_c_KE_city_Nairobi:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://ipinfo.io/json

# 2. does a sticky session hold the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do curl -s -x login_c_KE_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org; echo; done

# 3. does Nation keep you on the Kenyan edition
curl -s -x login_c_KE:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code} %{redirect_url}\n" https://nation.africa/

Where the numbers come from

The numbers on counties, cities and networks come from our residential pool catalogue as of 16 October 2026. Service entries with no city name are not counted. We ran the check on 23 Kenyan domains ourselves from Europe on the same day, with a full browser header set and a 60 second limit per answer.

Questions people ask before buying Kenyan addresses

Does Nairobi really have 69 networks?

Yes, by name, and only Lima in our catalogue holds more in one city. But most of them are fibre providers for offices, and the home carriers are two: Safaricom and Zuku. For the look of an ordinary resident, pin those.

Is there depth outside Nairobi?

A little: Mombasa six networks, Nakuru five, Eldoret four. In 16 cities out of 21 there is exactly one network.

Do Kenyan sites block foreigners?

Some do. Of the 23 we checked, Jumia, Jiji, BuyRentKenya, PigiaMe, SportPesa, eCitizen and Kenya Airways answered 403, Property24 503, and Nation switched to its diaspora edition. Kilimall, Carrefour, KCB and the publishers are open.

Why does a payment fail even from a Kenyan address?

Because retail here runs on M-Pesa, and payment pages expect a Kenyan phone number. The address opens the page; it does not replace the number.

Do Kenyan addresses cost more?

No. The price is the same everywhere: residential from $1.00 per GB.
