Nigeria proxies

Our catalogue lists 11 regions, 22 city records and 43 networks for Nigeria. The shape of the pool is unusual: Lagos alone holds 32 networks out of 43, Abuja twelve, and then a sharp drop to Port Harcourt with four and Benin City with three. The second thing worth knowing in advance: a noticeable share of the Nigerian networks in the pool are fibre and fixed wireless providers serving businesses rather than home carriers. And the third, which we checked ourselves: of 24 well known Nigerian sites, six refuse a plain request from Europe, Jumia, Jiji and Nairaland among them.

What we have in Nigeria

The price is the same as in every other country we cover.

What Nigerian addresses get used for

Marketplaces

Jumia Nigeria, Konga, Slot, Supermart: Jumia is closed to a foreign address, Konga is open.

Classifieds and property

Jiji, PropertyPro: both answer 403 from outside, strictly a local-address job.

Fintech and banks

Paystack, Flutterwave, GTBank, Access, Zenith: checking payment pages and dashboards as a customer sees them.

Betting

Bet9ja, SportyBet: Bet9ja is closed from outside, SportyBet is open.

Ad verification and search results

Punch, Vanguard, Premium Times, google.com.ng: campaigns bought for a Nigerian audience.

What looks different from outside Nigeria

Of 24 sites we checked, six answered 403, two did not answer at all, and two switched a foreign address to another edition. We sell addresses rather than a way past detection.

Connection strings for Nigeria

The country is pinned with a suffix in the login. Host, port and password stay the same as for any other country.

A city goes in as a second suffix. In Nigeria you want it almost always: without it you get Lagos three times out of four, which is fine, but Abuja and Port Harcourt are different markets.

Lagos holds three quarters of the catalogue

Lagos is 32 networks out of 43 and ten city records in Lagos State: the city itself, Ikoyi, Lekki, Ikeja, Agege, Egbeda, Festac Town, Onipanu, Alagbado and Ebute Ikorodu. Abuja holds twelve networks, Port Harcourt four, Benin City three, and in twelve cities out of 21 exactly one network is available.

The rest of the country is one city per state: Ibadan and Irepodun in Oyo, Ilorin, Suleja, Mowe, Warri, Uyo, Bonny. The north is nearly absent from the pool: neither Kano nor Kaduna appears in the catalogue.

For a job that means something simple: Nigeria in our pool is Lagos and Abuja. If the target looks at the city, take the rest selectively and do not count on rotation inside it.

Half the networks are not home connections

The widest network in the pool is MTN with seven cities, then ipNX and Spectranet with five, KKON, Airtel and Cobranet with four. But of the top ten, only MTN, Airtel and Globacom are home carriers in the usual sense: the mobile operators through which most of Nigeria gets online.

ipNX, Cobranet, MainOne, Swift, Tizeti, Layer3 and Hyperia are fibre and fixed wireless providers whose customers are mostly offices, banks and residential estates in Lagos. An address on one of those looks to a platform like a business connection, and for some jobs that is a minus.

So here, unlike in most countries of the catalogue, pinning a carrier is about the look rather than about diversity of autonomous systems: if the job needs a home subscriber, pin MTN or Airtel. KKON appears under two names in the catalogue; we count the union.

Sixteen sites out of 24 open, eight do not

We checked 24 well known Nigerian domains from Europe with a full browser header set, on 16 October 2026. Sixteen opened: Konga, Slot, Supermart, SportyBet, the Punch, Vanguard and Premium Times outlets, the GTBank, Access, Zenith and First Bank banks, the MTN and Airtel carriers, the Central Bank, while Flutterwave and Bolt opened but switched a foreign address to their US and German editions.

Six answered 403: Jumia, Jiji, PropertyPro, Nairaland, Bet9ja and Paystack. That is not a configuration error, it is a filter on geography or address class, and for those platforms a Nigerian address is for access. Glo and the NIMC registry did not answer a plain request within 60 seconds.

The practical conclusion: banks, publishers and Konga are open from outside, and an address there is for local conditions rather than access. The Jumia marketplace, classifieds and betting are closed, and there residential is the only option.

What Nigerian sites check beyond the address

The language is English, which simplifies everything: one pass, no second language version.

The currency is the naira, NGN, written ₦. Western digits with a comma for thousands. The exchange rate has moved a great deal in recent years, so compare historical prices in naira rather than in dollars at today’s rate.

The time zone is UTC+1 with no daylight saving. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday.

On the network specifically: mobile internet is the main channel here, and to many platforms an MTN mobile address looks more natural than fibre. If a platform is awkward on a home address, try pinning the carrier itself.

How stable the exits are here

In Lagos and Abuja there is something to switch to and sessions hold. Across the rest of the country there is one network per city, and no rotation inside the city.

On size, plainly: 43 networks by name, three of them mobile carriers and a dozen corporate providers. Plan your load against Lagos and treat the rest as a selective supplement.

Choosing the setup for a Nigerian target

The short fork.

  • You need a home-subscriber look: Lagos with MTN or Airtel pinned.
  • You need rotation across autonomous systems: Lagos unpinned, 32 networks.
  • You need the capital: Abuja, twelve networks.
  • The target answered 403 from outside: country level residential or Lagos, which is Jumia, Jiji, Bet9ja, Paystack.
  • You need a fintech or betting dashboard: a one hour sticky session, one session per account.

What a month of Nigerian work costs

It is counted in traffic. A dollar per gigabyte.

  • Price monitoring across Konga and Jumia, 20,000 listings a day with images blocked, roughly 110 KB per page: about 2.2 GB a day, around 66 GB a month, $66 on residential.
  • A daily sweep of one Jiji category: tens of gigabytes.
  • Ad verification, 200 placements a day at about 400 KB each: under 2.5 GB a month.

The legal part, stated plainly

Nigeria has a data protection act from 2023, the NDPA, supervised by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Collecting publicly posted prices and processing personal data are different things, and the second is regulated separately.

Communications are regulated by the NCC. A proxy changes none of what you are allowed to do with data. It changes only which country the request appears to come from.

This is general information rather than legal advice. Our terms require lawful use and we act on abuse reports.

Verifying a Nigerian exit

Under a minute. The first command matters most here: it shows whether you are on a mobile carrier or on corporate fibre.

Three checks

# 1. is the exit Nigerian, and on which network
curl -s -x login_c_NG_city_Lagos:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://ipinfo.io/json

# 2. does a sticky session hold the same address
for i in 1 2 3; do curl -s -x login_c_NG_s_7_ttl_1h:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 https://api.ipify.org; echo; done

# 3. does the closed platform open through the exit
curl -s -x login_c_NG:password@proxy.sotaproxy.com:10000 -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}\n" https://jiji.ng/

Where the numbers come from

The numbers on regions, cities and networks come from our residential pool catalogue as of 16 October 2026. Service entries with no city name are not counted. We ran the check on 24 Nigerian domains ourselves from Europe on the same day, with a full browser header set and a 60 second limit per answer.

Questions people ask before buying Nigerian addresses

Where is the deepest pool?

Lagos: 32 networks out of 43 and ten city records in the state. Abuja holds twelve networks, then Port Harcourt with four. In twelve cities out of 21 there is exactly one network.

Why does the address look like a business connection?

Because a noticeable share of the Nigerian networks in the pool are fibre and fixed wireless providers for offices: ipNX, Cobranet, MainOne, Swift, Tizeti. For a home look pin MTN or Airtel.

Do Nigerian sites block foreigners?

Some do. Of the 24 sites we checked, Jumia, Jiji, PropertyPro, Nairaland, Bet9ja and Paystack answered 403, and Glo and NIMC did not answer within 60 seconds. Banks, publishers, Konga and SportyBet are open.

Do I need city targeting?

Almost always. Without the suffix you most often get Lagos, which is right for most jobs, but Abuja and Port Harcourt are separate markets with separate prices.

Do Nigerian addresses cost more?

No. The price is the same everywhere: residential from $1.00 per GB.
